The Carpenter's House

 Welcome to the Team

HI!

Welcome to The Carpenter’s House family. Firstly, we want you to know that you are an answer to our prayers. We’re thankful and excited that you’ve chosen to be part of our church family—and we’re honoured that you’re standing with us.

We truly believe that getting involved in church life is part of the journey toward growing a closer and deeper relationship with God and others. As followers of Christ, we are called to serve as Jesus did. We are privileged to do this together—making His story part of our testimony of change.

Ephesians 4:15–16 helps us understand how we can serve well:

“Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.”

We believe that God is the head of our church family, and only through Him can imperfect people fit together perfectly.

When we grow to be more like Christ and speak the truth in love, we grow in every way.

Each part matters. Each role is special.
When we all do our part, the whole body grows—healthy, strong, and full of love.

Thank you again for choosing The Carpenter’s House as your church family. We trust you’ll be looked after in your team, and that this will be a space for you to grow deeper in your relationship with Him.

You’re always welcome to reach out—we’d love to sit at the table with you.

Bless you, and Yay! Welcome to the family.

Growing People to Serve People

GROWTH

As you grow, we grow

We believe you can grow in all areas of life—spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
This kind of growth happens both in your personal time with God and in your team time with God. We believe there are meaningful opportunities to develop your talents, gifts, and fruits by being faithful with what God has placed in your hands and heart.

We strive to be at our best—not to be the best.
It’s about progression over perfection.

RELATIONSHIP

Together in all seasons

As your relationship with God grows, we believe your relationships with others will grow too.
We create spaces for people to connect and grow strong, meaningful relationships. We all have something to learn from one another—and through those connections, we discover how to extend God’s love in every season of life.

A transformed life bears fruit.
It starts with our relationship with God and overflows into our relationships with others.

OPEN

Open hearts, Open hands

We believe that being a team member and servant of God means opening our hearts, hands, and minds to serve others.
It’s about being teachable—willing to learn from God and from one another. It’s also about inviting and connecting with those who have yet to experience Christ. We may be the first encounter someone has with Him, so we choose to be present, available, and full of care.

Through these moments—and the overflow of God’s love in our lives—we respond daily with a wholehearted “yes” to His mission.

WORSHIP

Everything we do is an act of worship.

We believe our lifestyle should reflect worship and bring glory to God—every day, in every place.
Worship isn’t just for Sundays. It’s a way of life, expressed daily through our actions, our words, and the posture of our hearts.

Mission (2).png

Be Faithful:

  • Grow a Close Relationship - spending one-on-one personal time with God through prayer and reading His word

  • Be a Generous Giver -  with our time, talents, and financially partnering with our church to pour into others in need

  • Get Involved in all areas of church life. Not just faithful in the team you serve. We are one team, one church, one family working towards the one purpose: Helping others to know and grow in God

Be Respectful:

  • Respect Others  - if you’re too big to serve, then you’re too small to lead.

  • Communicate Clearly - be specific with kindness, show grace and love, and be proactive. It’s best to let your leaders know early than too late.

  • Honour Others - by arriving early to sessions, services, activities, events and be ready to “catch the ball”.

Be Teachable:

  • Learn and Grow - Open your heart and headspace to learn and grow your talents and spiritual gifts. Being a part of investing in others by passing on your experience and skills to grow the Kingdom of God.

  • Listen to Understand - Open yourself to receiving feedback from others with grace, to understand how you can grow. When you grow, we all grow.

  • Carry our Culture - Understand who we are as Christ-followers and showing others in the way we live and how they can be culture carriers too.

Be a Leader:

  • First to arrive; last to leave

  • Arrive early tells my team I'm Ready; When I arrive On-time it tells my team I'm late and not ready.

  • Arrive with energy, enthusiasm and a positive attitude

  • I'm prepared for what we're about to do

  • Reset for the next team

A culture by default develops on its own when you're not thinking about attitudes or behaviours.

This can become the norm. Like running a race with no CLEAR lines.

So we choose to create a culture by design.

Intentionally creating environments through setting expectations, boundaries and language to draw people closer to God.

This is your guide to understanding the culture and language here at TCH with the intention to help you feel at ease and drawing your faith closer to action.

To help you understand how you can serve well in your team, we have created playbooks that set out the team culture, expectations, roles and responsibilities. Our hope is that this can help you to understand what is expected of you as a team player; how the team serves together and grows together.

As teams grow, we will continue to add to this collection of playbooks.
