Pastoring a Church is a Humbling Experience
This journey, pastoring a church is humbling. The times we live in now, so much is going on. We are shaken by so much more today than we were yesterday. Holding firm, our grip is exhausting; our grip on truth, realities, struggles, faith, hope. It can all weigh you down. But if we let go of what is heavy and hold firm to our faith in Him, we can find rest.
Matthew 11:28-30 tells us "Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
The rest we look for is not found in what we see everyday. Losing our grip on what we have control of can feel like we are losing our battles. But Jesus offers us His yoke which is lighter and to learn from Him who has a humble and gentle heart. Only THEN can we find rest.
With that said we walk into another Sunday service of livestreaming only. We do so with confidence that our Father is leading us to encourage our church family that faith must begin with you and your family and not found only on Sundays in a church building. Faith begins and continues everyday as you spend time with Him daily. Only THEN will you find rest.
