2023 Reflections | Deeper Than This

As we prepare to head home after a restful holiday with our family, Dan and I take a few moments to reflect on 2023 and look ahead to this new year.

Sometimes its not until we reach the end of something that you realise the growth, setbacks and acceptances time has revealed.

We reach the end of 2023 and I reflect on the growth in our marriage. Supporting my husband in his calling has revealed some change in mine. At one point the change felt like a setback but with honest conversations, prayer and Gods promise for me I have accepted change in what I am called to do in this season as a Pastor's wife. With God's help I'm understanding how to accept new paths for me and encountering Him in a new way. Oh have I felt such a load lift and my purpose shift in this season.

This year has definitely been a year of going "deeper than this" and Im thankful the Holy Spirit helps me to see what deeper looks like in others. The depth of one's growth differs to another. Our perspective changes when we no longer see it as a setback; that while we all hear the same thing, we respond to it differently. This can strengthen us as the body of Christ because the journey with Him still moves and we can still move with Him at whatever pace we take. As long as we move deeper than yesterday.

So Im excited for 2024 and shining a light on what it means to be like Christ and to do so within my family.
